MAIN DUTIES:
Prepare, create, modify and run Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs; self driven work schedules to meet all CMM/gauging work order requirements on-time.
Perform dimensional layouts/inspections and gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies (GR &R) using Check Fixtures, CMM, taper gauges, micrometers, vernier calipers, scales, etc.
Read, understand and interpret automotive blueprints/CAD drawings, GD&T call-outs and engineering specifications.
Ensure all metrology equipment is maintained and receives proper calibration/verification and/or repair when necessary or per set schedules, and in accordance to ISO/TS16949: Control of monitoring and measuring equipment.
Prepare work instructions
Conduct analysis and technical problem solving as needed for nonconforming or poor capability data, in efforts to provide input on action plans necessary to resolve & meet compliance.
Prepare/Generate CMM and other dimensional/SPC reports for part trials, PPAP submissions, or regular part shipments; articulate in accordance to customer specific requirements and to presentational fit.
Participate in continuous improvement activities, involving gage design approvals & validation process, and customer master-cubing reviews
Perform R&R studies on gages and checking fixtures.
Ensure housekeeping and that all equipment is identified logged and stored in accordance to procedures(s) for measuring and test equipment; utilize electric-hand-truck & fork-lift as needed
Utilize problem solving techniques to resolve customer issues
Perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree or Technical Certificate is preferred.
Minimum 2 years recent experience with CMM, layout and measurement equipment, preferably in the automotive plastic injection parts (industry).
Must possess excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word in Windows environment
Experience with PC-DMIS and associated programs such as Datapage/Dataview and SPC Software.
Past work experience related to this jobEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
